![]() But if you start the converter you must choose a folder containing raw files. The converter will start and allow you to set the options for the single file to be converted. but it doesn't seems to change what above. Adobe Community Professional, If you only want to convert a single image, it is possible to drag/drop the raw file onto the icon for the DNG converter. Since Adobe DNG Converter (at present version 9.1.1) is a free utility if you have space you can download and in case of need install.įrom this page, it's possible to download the version 9.3. In general, on any system, it's better to avoid to install unneeded software. Visit the Camera Raw page for a complete list of supported cameras. Support for the following cameras has been added. The Adobe DNG Converter is a free utility that enables you to easily convert camera-specific raw files from more than 350 cameras to the more universal DNG raw format Additionally, Adobe Lightroom is built upon the same powerful raw image processing technology that powers Adobe Camera Raw.įrom the Adobe DNG Converter page you can read: Applications that support Adobe Camera Raw include Photoshop, Photoshop Elements, After Effects, and Bridge. Īdobe Camera Raw, which lets you import and enhance raw images, has been a must-have tool for professional photographers right since it was first released in 2003. Indeed you can read on the Camera Raw page. The link appears to be broken, I need the software to use LRTimelapse, where do I get it if the download link doesnt. I clicked the link in the dialog, and went to the downlaod site to get it. And of course the date stamp on the files themselves are now changed to reflect today's date. No, it seems you do not. I just installed the latest version of LRTimelapse, A dialog popped up that read 'DNG convertor not installed on the system'. Note that the YYMMDD name is now the correct date based on the EXIF.Īfter this is done, I run Adobe DNG converter on these PEF files and it spit out files with exactly the same filenames except with the extension DNG. What I just did was to first multi-rename the files to the DAM format using total commander and with this, I end up with a bunch of files with filenames like JL_YYMMDD_IMG_XXXX.PEF (JL being my initials). Naturally when I use total commander to multi-rename the files based on the date stamp of the files, I get the incorrect date which is different to the photos. What I originally did is to run adobe DNG converter and get it to process all the PEF files directly.and naturally the conversion from PEF to DNG will result in new files being created (just as Marc u replied) with a new date stamp. I managed to solve this issue and in the process just discover what an idiot i am. What else did i do wrong? How else should I go about this? I tried also to use faststone image viewer to reset the file data based on the EXIF data (which is the correct data based on the capture date) but it appears that Fastsone is unable to read the EXIF date from the DNG files. So my filename should become something like JL_20081220_IMGXXXX.DNG but with the changing file data, the files will be automatically renamed to JL_20100501_IMGXXXX.DNG which is not what I would like.īy the way, I am using Total Commander to batch rename the files. I now have the DAM book and I am trying very hard to do what the author says.and one of the first step I took is to rename the files based on the year/mm/day info. The date of these PEF files (I'm not referring to EXIF date though.they are fine) should obviously be something like 2008 but after running thru Adobe DNG converter, the time/date changed to 2010, 1st May - something undesirable. I have a bunch of PEF files taken using my k100D abt 2 years ago. Adobe DNG Converter actually change the "file accessed" timestamp of the DNG files (although the EXIF time/date remain intact).
